The airport has Poland's second-longest runway and may accommodate all kinds of aircrafts in even the most difficult weather conditions. At present the airport terminal's being expanded. National road No 19 connecting Rzeszów and Lublin provides convenient access to the airport
Municipal bus service (MPK) – Special shuttle bus ”L”
Special bus line for air-passengers, the time of service matches the Rayanair arrival/departure schedule to/from London. The bus terminal is in front of the passenger terminal. The bus stop in the city centre's in the immediate vicinity of the railway station and bus terminal.
Departure from the Railway Station (PKP) 9:35 am – Mon.-Sun. 7:30 pm – Wed. and Fri. Departure from the Airport to Rzeszów city centre 11.50 am - Mon.-Sun. 9:20 pm – Wed. and Fri. Bus departs after passenger arrival. Tickets may be bought from the drivers before departure. Passenger-baggage tickets: €2, 1GBP or 6 PLN. Remember to validate your ticket as soon as you get on board. Customs The duty-free allowance for those entering Poland from outside the EU includes 1 litre of spirits, 2 litres of wine and 5 litres of beer, and 250 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 250 g of tabacco. If coming from the EU, of course you can in theory bring however much you like. Driving The speed limit's 35 mph in cities, 60 mph outside urban areas, 75 mph on two-way roads and 80 mph on motorways. All cars are required to carry a red warning triangle, first-aid kit, fire extinguisher and a national identity sticker. Headlights must be switched on at all times. Poland has severe driving restrictions: 0.2 % is the maximum blood alcohol limit. You can use your home driving license or an international driving permit for 6 months from the entry date on your passport. Americans, however, should check with their embassy or consulate. Carry your licence and passport at all times if you're driving. Local Time Poland is part of the Central European Time Zone (GMT+1). When it is 12:00 pm in Warsaw, it is also noon in Berlin, 11:00 am in London, 6:00 am in New York, 2:00 pm in Moscow and 8:00 pm in Sydney. Electricity The electric current in use is 230 Volts AC, 50 Hz. European two-pin plugs are necessary or you can bring plug converters from home, although they can also be bought in major shops. Money Poland's national currency is the złoty (zł/PLN). One złoty equals 100 groszy. Banknotes come in denominations of 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 zł and there are 1, 2 and 5 zł, and 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 gr (groszy) coins in circulation. Foreign currency can be exchanged at the airport, hotels, banks and exchange offices (kantor). Cash points (bankomat) are widespread. Post Most post offices are open from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm on weekdays and from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturdays. The post office which is open 24/7 days a week is in Asnyka street (near the railway station). Municipal Public Transport Rzeszów has an extensive bus system – about 40 lines with buses going into and out of the city. They usually run from 5:00 am to 11:00 pm, after that there're two night lines (No 100 and 101) in. The most convenient is the line ”0” which goes round the city, and its route starts and ends at the bus stop in front of the railway station. Tickets can be bought at all kiosks or straight from the driver for an extra charge of 50 gr. Once you've got the ticket you will need to validate it into one of the on-board box-tills. We invite you to the parish church of the Virgin Mary of La Sallette (ul. Dąbrowskiego). We recommend the following services: Sunday 12:00 Eucharist (lower church), Sunday 8:15 pm Eucharist for students (upper church). Shopping The majority of shops are open from 10:00 am till 6:00 pm on weekdays and from 9:00 am to 1:00/2:00 pm on Saturdays. Supermarkets are open from 8:00 am to 8:00/10:00 pm. Trains from Rzeszów to Lvov: there are only two direct trains. One runs daily at 3:52 pm (departure from Rzeszów), and a sleeper which runs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 11:52 pm. It's also possible to take a train to Przemyśl and change there. Pharmacies There are three 24-hour pharmacies: ul. Podchorążych 1 Phones Public telephones can be found throughout the city, and take phone cards that can be purchased at kiosks and post offices. There are discount prepaid cards for international calls available, too. If you want to use a mobile, the cheapest option would be to buy a 'pay-as-you-go' card pack.
