Beginning our weekend trip, we leave Rzeszów and head for Dynów, taking the 878 road. After we go past Tyczyn and Hyżne, right before Dynów we get to the crossroads with the 884 road connecting Domaradz and Przemyśl. We suggest taking a break for a meal in “Pod Semaforem” inn (Bachórz 16). The restaurant offers not only excellent food and drinks, its attraction is also the nearby narrow-gauge rail connecting Przeworsk and Dynów.

The mysteries of the underground city
podziemia do wymiany 2.bmp To the most well-known and admired landmarks of Rzeszów there has been added one more - the Underground Tourist Route. Though, it has been in existence since 2001, last year it received a new, more attractive appearance. The new route comprises 25 cellars linked by 15 corridors located on three different levels. The deepest one is nearly 10 m below the ground. The total route is now 369m long. The entrance is in a modern but matching the ancient surroundings building. Here we can begin an approximately one hour long journey into the past, enabling us to breathe in history, to touch a few hundred years old stone portals, walls or ceilings, as well as knights armour and swords ...

twierdza przemysl. fort i salis soglio. fot. dariusz hop.bmp The Fortress of Przemysl – built at the turn of the 19th century – was one of the largest complex of fortifications of Europe during the second world war. The fortifications contributed to the slowing of the Russian offensive to the West. The Foretress of Przemysl was besieged three times, in all, the fortresses defended themselves for the longest of 179 days. Only the French fortress Verdun, which did not endure a full siege, sustained itself longer. The fortress currently comprises a 45km range of 15 primary and a few dozen supporting forts. A scenic hiking trail linking the forts is posted by a black stripe.
